Rubye,I don't think it is likely that the William Wiggins who married Elizabeth Cooper is the son of William Wiggins who married Priscilla Brown.
The county records of Halifax Co.,NC have the will of William Wiggins(written Oct 1790,proved May 1791) naming wife Priscilla and children William, Arthur, Thomas (deceased), Jane Brewer, and Priscilla Bishop. The will states that the son William was living in Halifax Co at that time. The 1782 tax records have two William Wigginses listed. The census records for Halifax Co. has William Wiggins listed in 1786, two listings for 1790, one listing for 1800 and 1810. Montgomery Co.,TN has William Wiggins listed in census for 1820 and 1830. The National Archives has a petition for a Revolutionary War pension from William Wiggins of Montgomery Co.,TN written 1832. It states very clearly that this William was born in Halifax Co and lived there when he enlisted in War.
William Wiggins and Elizabeth Cooper Wiggins left Sampson Co.,NC for Monroe Co.,AL in 1818 and he died there in 1819.
William Wiggins of Montgomery Co.,TN seemed to have children, but I have not been able to find any records for them. I have noticed some conversations on this forum about some later William Wigginses in Henry Co.,TN. Could they be related?
