Sorry it took so long to get back.My great grandfather was born in Smithboro County, Monahan but I hear from my Aunt that it was Clones. She said the Wiggins were orig English and sent to Ireland they later went to Scotland. My Gr Grandfather was in the Queens Regiment under Queen Victoria and was in India for many years, he later went back to Scotland and married Janet Davidson. My grandmother Christina Wiggins was born on the grounds of Edinburgh Castle, since John Wiggins(my gr grand) was still in the service. They later settled in Motherwell where my Grandmother married Thomas Cairney. The entire family immigrated to Toronto Ontario Canada in the early 1900's. I don't know if my gr grandfather had siblings who immigrated to the states, but I could ask my Aunt. I'm having a difficult time tracing the Wiggins beyond my gr grandfather. I know his mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Gordon who was from Scotland. If you find out anymore information let me know, but I do know that there were many many Wiggins born in Clones and the surrounding areas (Ireland) thanks Pat
