Susan,
The December 1887 issue of the Mountain Echo Newspaper from Marion County, Arkansas has his obit as...
"Mr. S.L. Wiggins dead. Mr. Sebran L. Wiggins died at his residence last Saturday, December 10, 1887, at about 12:30 p.m. and was burried on Sunday evening at the Tutt graveyard. He was at work at the zinc mine when he was first taken sick, and was brought home. His sickness, it is supposed, was caused by exposure while at the mines. Dr. Wilson, who attended him, pronounced his disease typhoid-pneumonia. Mr. Wiggins was about 58 years of age. He came from Georgia to this state many years ago and was well known all over the county. He was of a lively social disposition and made many friends who will regret to learn of his death. He leaves a widow and several children to mourn his death."
That was pretty specific with the hour and minute to be dead since 1887! My Henry Wiggins married Polly Coker and they had a son named Enoch Eastman Wiggins, Enoch had at least 5 or 6 brothers, one other known of. Ned Wiggins married Amanda Lyman. I am currently in contact with a Ned Wiggins descendent. My Polly Coker's line goes back aways. Henry Wiggins was in the Civil War and was killed as a result. He was burried by women in a lone grave which is suspected to be under a lake (Bull Shoals Lake, AR and MO area) today. I do not have much info on Henry but do with his descendents. Let me know what ya find.
