One correction, you mention he went to Hampton in 1641. From 1633 onward, his seat was Squamscot Patent which was not within the bounds of any town. He did however baptise 3 of his children at the church in Hampton in 1641. In 1633 the only "roads" were the rivers. For him to be attending church in Hampton by 1641, there had to have been a road built from Exeter to Hampton. The road that connects Exeter to Portsmouth was called the King's Highway and later Portsmouth Avenue. The road from Exeter to Hampton was later called Hampton Road. Does anyone have more info about the earliest roads in New Hampshire?
