James, my ggrand father was also from Posen. He was born in Targowa Gorka in 1862 and emigrated to Australia in 1883. I do not know anything else about him other than the names of his parents, Ludwig Wiese and Anna Rosina Wiese nee Ziemer. Could Ludwig be connected to your ancestors? Are you aware of any towns where wiese families may have lived in Posen?
