Hello Mark,

My husband's Wiese family was Wilhelm[ William] Wiese and his wife, Dorothea Lippe. He was born 1819 and came to the US in the 1850s with several children. They lived in Hanover, Germany. They settled in Carlinville Illinois where he worked as a painter. I would like to find out who his family were and also would like to trace the Lippe family. Is this family name well known in Germany? William fought in the Civil war in 1864.
