The family history compiled by William Withrow Wier in 1866 was distributed to the family and was reprinted in the 1944 book "The Wier-Creekmore Genealogy" by Sarah Elizabeth Creekmore Wallace, a first cousin of my great-grandfather.But I have never seen a facsimile copy of the original notebook William W. Wier wrote his history in, and I would be very interested in this.
I am also interested in learning whether anyone has a copy of the 1835 letter by Thomas Wier which is referenced in this history, as well as the 1846 letter by him to a granddaughter, quoted (partially) in the book "Ten Tribes of Wier" (1933, 1938, 1940).Do you know of anyone who has either letter, or at least a complete transcript?
My ancestor was Thomas Wier Jr.'s brother James Wier (b. 1769) who married Mary Hamilton (b. 1774), daughter of Jane Boyd Hamilton, a sister of James Boyd (who married Nancy Wier, sister of James and Thomas Jr.).
