Peter Wieland was in the USA for only 2 years and then went back to Germany. He was in the Fremont,and Port Clinton, OH area. I don't have the relationship between Wilhelmi and Wieland, but they are all connected with Neumann and Oppelt families. I have posted messages on Neuman and Bell Genealogy Forum Boards.
Looking for info on Kenneth Neuman and Patty Bell. He was born Ohio in 1934, died in 1987. His father was Karl Neumann. A relative, Hedwig Erl from Neidenstein, Germany is searching for descendants of Kenneth. Her gr gr grandmother Margarete Wilhelmi emigrated to Port Clinton, OH in 1883. She had these children: Anna Neumann, Adam Wilhelmi, Emilie Wilhelmi, Sebastian and Philipp Wilhelmi. The descendants of Philipp Wilhelmi and Anna Neumann nee Wilhelmi kept up contact with the family. The contact ended some years
ago. Mrs. Mary Oppelt at 2435 McGarvey, Redwood City, CA, wrote to her gr aunt, Sister Elise Wieland in Neidenstein, Germany, but she died in 1965. Hedwig is a friend of my cousin in Germany and it was difficult to sort out who is related to who. But it appears that one of the Neumann lines was married into Oppelt.
