Wiederichs in north-central PA
Wiederich is an incidental line to the family histories I spend most of my time on (Weimer and Hyde), but perhaps knowing about this group will be useful to someone.
Our branch of the Weimers came to America in 1830. They came in a group that was held together by the Wiederichs.
Eve Wiederich married George Weimer. Her sister, Margaret, married Christian Schadenberger, the third family was that of Jacob Wiederich (who was brother to Margaret and Eve).
They settled together in Potter County, PA. Potter County is covered by a wonderful genealogy website: http://paintedhills.org/http://paintedhills.org/
These Wiederichs came from the towns of Hunspach and Hoffen in the departmente of Bas-Rhin in the Alsace-Lorraine region of France. They had lived there for generations and continued to do so long after our group emigrated. They probably still live there today.
