Well, to complicate things, there is also a Reuben Wieder born in 1817 to Charles and Catherine Wieder in Lehigh Co., PA. I believe this could be the same Reuben M. Wieder that goes to Butler and Preble Co. OH . . .marries Susanna Hoover, and then moves to Carthage, Hancock, IL where he dies. Some of his children are Martin, Mary & Alonzo. I also would also like to know the connection with your Edward.

I am trying to figure out the connection of Milton Wieder to Reuben. Milton is young enough to be a son of Reuben's, but supposedly isn't. He is born in Butler Co., OH, and then is in Carthage when Reuben is, and they are buried in the same plot in the cemetery in Carthage. Milton and an EDWIN Wieder both occur on the 1850 census in Butler Co., OH with the family of Catharine Wieder, but judging by the way they are listed are probably not her children. Reuben appears on the same page about 6 residences away.

I don't know if that helps or merely complicates things.
