Augusta Hefflinger

HAMLER -- Augusta Marie Hefflinger, 84, of Hamler, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Gomer.

She was born July 17, 1916 in Napoleon to Henry and Louise (Wiebeck) Wiechers. She married Gene Hefflinger on June 26, 1937 in Napoleon, and he died Nov. 6, 1980.

Surviving are a son, Jerry of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; two daughters, Janet Bellis, La Quinta, Calif.; Joan Baden, Gomer; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry and Karl Wiechers, both of Napoleon; and two sisters, Lucille Higgins, Toledo; and Lora Whitney, Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Behrman; three brothers, William, Seigfried and Norman Wiechers.

Mrs. Hefflinger was a homemaker and had also worked as a laborer at Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon, from 1958 to 1968.

She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler, and its Alter Guild and ALCW. She was a former member of the Wide Awake Club and Garden Club, both in Hamler, and the Polka Boosters of Henry County. She was a former volunteer at Lutheran Home, Napoleon.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. James Budke officiating. Burial will be in Hoy Cemetery, Napoleon.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Foundation or the church.
