George Widrig born 15 Jan 1740 died 17 July 1830.
Jacob b 1750/3 d 1844
Michael b 1760 d 1777.
Conrad (may be more)
All came fm Wurtemberg, West Germany ca 1765 when young & settled in what is now East Schuyler, Herkimer Co. N.Y. Jacob was a Capt. under Col. Peter Bellinger & fought at the battle of Oriskany under the command of Gen. Nicholas Herkimer. Michael, George and Conrad were privates under Capt. Jacob Widrig. Michael was killed at Oriskany. All were in the 4th reg, Tryon County Militia. Brig. Nicholas Herkimer was ambushed at the battle of Oriskany 6 Aug 1777 and mortally wounded. After the battle some 50 wounded picked up 150 to 200 of their dead.
George Widrig married (1) Mary Elizabeth BENDER. He was a member of the New York State Assembly fm Herkimer Co. fm 1801-1807. He beacame a General of the Militia and served in the war of 1812. Children;
Catherine b June 17, 1777; George b 1780; Mary Elizabeth b Sept 10, 1782 dy.; Henry b Aug 14, 1786; Elizabeth b May 15,1788; Conrad b July 28, 1790; Maria b Oct 23, 1792; Michael b Aug 17, 1794; Magdalena b Mar. 25, 1802, (This is Margaret, she was b 2 Feb 1802, according to record of my father. This is my line. Her mother died when she was born.
Margaret was b Frankfort, Herkimer Co. N.Y. married there 2 July 1820 to David MORGAN b 4 Aug 1788 in Wales died 4 May 1858 Lorain Co. Ohio. War of 1812 fm N.Y. They removed to Rutland N.Y. Jefferson Co. & in 1831 went to Camden, Lorain Co. Ohio. Children;

Samuel 1825; Harriet 1827; William L. 1830; David L. 1833; Charles H. lived Norwalk, O.; James B. 1836 md Frances Temperance STREETER, went to Branch Hill, Clermont Co. O. Their dau Ella Elizabeth Morgan md George Condon, my grandfather, and lived in Butler Co. Ohio.
The New York State Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation, Central Region-6105 East Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, New York 13078-9516 wants any descendants of anyone that fought at the Battle of Orinsky to contact them for their Descendant Registry. Our WIDRIG people are eligable. Their names are on the monument.
