I have the article I mentioned which is from a May, 1933 newspaper obituary. The Widney Family Tree that was compiled and given to me in hard copy probably would not be legible and understandable to you because of all the notations, scribbles, etc.
As I'm new to this web site and your email address is hidden, can you supply same to me and I will scan and email you the obituary.
Dates of James Widney birth, marriage to Mary Wilson and death are not on the chart. The only thing shown is the following:
James Widney-Mary Wilson, Tyrone Co. Ireland. Someone has penciled in that they were married at Ballybay, Monapham, Ireland. The chart only shows one son, but I'm sure there were other siblings, Charles Widney (1763b.-1844d.)who is my ggggrandfather.
The chart shows James Widney's father to be the Colonel John Widney mentioned in the obituary, nothing about wife and that he was from Holland.
His father was Captain John Widney and the only thing mentioned is he was part of the Scottish Brigade in Holland. Nothing about a wife or children other than the Colonel.
A Buelah Widney Wall of Oklahoma City compiled the geneology chart and a cousin of mine (Betty Jo Widney Husted of West Des Moines) talked with her and gave me a copy.
Let me know your email if appropriate. Thank you. Are you a Widney?
