John, My wife, Laura Lee Sillay and I have recently discovered her family's Lee-Wideman connection to Abbeyville. We have seen Al Franklin's web site,, and have visited the courthouse at Abbeyville, where we have obtained copies of some wills and land platts not burned in prior courthouse fires. You may already have what we have, but we will share if you are interested. We have some questions about the appearance that Henry Wideman (Johann Heinrich) who settled in Abbeville prior to 1774 (a land platt of that date showing him as owner) may have married again after reaching South Carolina. We also would love to have any further information about German background of the family. We can also share information about our connection to William O. Lee and Lucy Anne Wideman's descendants if you're interested.
