Rick,
Thank you so much for your reply. The Joseph Wideman you identified below is in fact my grandfather Joseph Clarence Wideman b. Aug 2, 1899. I have been able to track him, his wife Georgia Eads and even to his father Edward W. Wideman, b. Sept 21, 1872 and married to a Laura Jane Boyer in 1898. These definitely appear to be my great grandparents. Any details on Edward's possible first wife Sarah Beavers have not seemed to be a direct match. I am still looking for further information.
The road block I appear to have hit is who is this Edward W. Wideman, where did he come from, where was he born and of course who are his parents. I got one hit on familysearch.org that shows a Jim Wideman as the father of Edward W. Wideman and a PAGI as the mother. I can not find this information anywhere else and all it lists is date of birth for both around 1847.
I thought maybe this Edward was from the Henry Wideman chain as you have indicated but I can not find Edward W. Wideman with correct dates and or is he listed very often.
I would appreciate any further information you might be able to shed on our search. My oldest sister insists that the family lineage takes us back to Alsace/Lorraine, France but I can not find any sign of that in my search to date.
I will continue to search and anything you can provide would be greatly appreciated
Thank you,
Joseph T. Wideman
