I'm a descendant of the couple in question as well. My mother is Barbara Beyerlein Rush of Savannah, GA, daughter of Albert Max Beyerlein and Martha Roberta Stead of Flushing, MI, who was daughter of Thomas W. Stead and Genesee Wideman of Newark Township, Gratiot County, MI, who was daughter of William Wideman (3/31/1839 - 2/10/1912) and Harriet Anna Barrus (b. 4/3/1853) of St. Johns, Clinton County, MI, who was daughter of Robert T. Barrus (1822-1903) and Harriet Anna Leedington.

William Wideman (born in Medina, OH) was the son of John Wideman (b. 2/15/1790 in Northampton County, PA - d. 4/26/1850 St. Johns, MI) and Barbara Geisinger (3/15/1793 - 4/26/1850).

John Wideman was the son of Philipp Weidmann (9/29/1740 - 4/26/1850) and Sarah Anna Long. Their other children were Ludwig and Barbara.

Philipp Weidmann was the son of Jacob Heinrich Weidmann (b. 1720 Germany - d. 1793 Northampton County, PA) and Anna Mary.

That's as far as my records on the Wideman/Weidmanns go. Let me know if you need more information or want to know more detail on William Wideman's descendants. I also have a few photographs of the Barrus and Wideman families of MI and OH dating back to the mid-1800s.

I'd love to see what information you have gathered on the family.

Thanks!

David
