I am a Wickwire descendant through Grant (m. Mary Throop)Wickwire's fifth child, Deborah Wickwire Alworth Abbott. I have a copy of Arthur Manley Hopkins book "The Genealogy of the Wickware Family and looked up some information pertaining to the James Wickwires. Hope it will be of help.
p. 132 - James Wickwire, no dates listed, s/o Jonathan Wickwire b. 1772 and Eunice Huff who had been brought to Canada by the Indians under Brant. Lived in Ontario.
p. 176 - They had 7 children, 5 sons (names listed) and two daughters, Caroline and Lydia Ann, no dates for children.
No info yet on James d. in BC.
p. 85 - James b. abt 1725 d. April 19, 1801, age 76, s/o Christopher & Elizabeth, m. Mary Grant, b. 1731, d. Sept. 5, 1819, age 88. They had 6 children. He was a soldier in the French & Indian War.
p. 98 - James Wickwire b. Sept. 28, 1759 in Colchester, CT,
s/o James Wickwire & Mary Grant, m. Sarah Barnes b. Nov. 13, 1759, on April 25, 1779. She died July 22, 1848. James enlisted in the Revolutionary War at age 16. Died Sept. 4, 1822.
p.133 - James Wickwire b. Feb. 16, 1774, s/o Lebbeous & Mary, m. Lena Derrick, b. Sept. 26, 1773, on Jan. 25, 1794, He d. June 16, 1813. They had 10 children (names listed) and resided in North Augusta, Grenville County, Ontario.
p. 116 - James Wickwire, b. May 30, 1776 at Cornwall, CT, m. Nov. 9, 1799, Hannah Peckham, b. March 14, 1778 in Newport, RI. She was the grandaughter of Josiah Bartlett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She d. 1820. James married 2nd Ruth Skeels and 3rd Rachel Aldrich in Nov. of 1845. Had 8 children all born before his first wife died. He died in Hamilton, New York, June 15,1864.
p. 131 -James Wickwire b. March 7, 1790 d. May 20, 1879 in Wisconsin. He m. Abigail Miner Oct. 26, 1814. Resided in
Waupaca, WI. Had 10 children, 9th one named James. No dates for any children.
p. 176 - James Wickwire b. June 22, 1803, m. Abigail White. Resided in North Augusta, Ontario. Died in 1887 at the age of 84. Had 9 children, none named James.
p. 117 - James Wickwire d. March 25, 1818, s/o James Wickwire and Hannah Peckham. James did not marry Rachel Aldrich until 1845. She was his third wife. No other info.
p. 176 - James Wickwire b. 1820, d.?, s/o Lebbeus Wickwire and Anna Stewart. She was from the United States. They lived near Prescott, Ontario. No other info.
p. 176 - James b. 1845 m. Emma Palmer. Had 3 daughters. (No names or dates listed). Resided in Blenheim, Ontario.
p. 153-154 - James Wickwire b. Dec. 7, 1853, Welton, Iowa, s/o Charles and Christina Wright Wickwire. Jan 2, 1878 m. Alletha Nutter. Resided in Charter Oak, Iowa. Had 5 children (names and dates listed).
Nothing yet on James Morton Wickwire, s/o John and Theresa,
but he is not the one m. to Alletha Nutter acc. to this book.
Nothing yet on James Lawrence Wickwire or Samuel Peter Wickwire either.
