If you are still looking for info on Wickliffe plantations, you might google "Wickland". Wickland in Bardstown, KY, was a plantation owned by my maternal-side family before the Civil War and after. My great-grandmother was born there, I've been told. The plantation and buildings fell into disrepair, of course. I remember a photo of the slave cottages, so they still existed sometime in the age of cameras, and possibly into the 20th c. The Wickland "mansion" was built over several years ending about 1818, I think. Three Kentucky governors (2 of them Wickliffes and one a family member by marriage) lived there. The estate was sold off eventually, and the remainder was in various private hands. I think now it is property of a foundation, or something. I visited Wickland myself, maybe 35 years ago. Hope that helps.
