Where are the Wickersheim's?
As a kid I always remember when we went on vacation we would look in phone books for "Wickersheim's" and never found any. In our home town in Iowa everyone pronounced our name "Wickersham" but we always spelled it "...sheim".
I was told by my father that there were 5 Wickersheim brothers that came to the U.S. when Germany required their young men to join their army when they were of age. So they left a suicide note on a bridge and threw their clothes in the water and somehow came to the U.S. in probably the 1800's sometime.
