WHICKER, James or James Wicker, NC Line, Mary, R19003, sol m Mary Dean 15 Jun 1792 in Stokes Co NC &she was born & raised in the part of Stokes Co that became Forsyth Co NC & sol d there (then in Stokes Co) on 30 Sep 1830 & his wid appl there 13 Aug 1858 aged 89, sol had enl in Granville Co NC in 1780 at age of 16 yrs, sol's sis Lucrecy "Lucretia" Vance aged 86 made aff'dt in 1858 in Forsyth Co NC, in 1858 a Mrs. Conny Crews the wid of Matthew Crews was aged 86 & a res of Forsyth Co NC & she stated her father John Whicker was taken prisoner by the British about the time of the battle of Guilford NC & she stated she & her husband Matthew Crews were at sol's & wid's wedding but the exact relationship of Mrs. Conny Crews to James Whicker was not given, in 1856 Joseph Crews aged 76& Thomas Sullivan aged 63 were witnesses to wid's aff'dt but no kinship was given.
