The earliest Wichmann ancestor that I've located was in Hamburg, 1766 (tax rolls & birth of son), but all the family ties were either in Schleswig-Holstein or Stade (Hannover?). My immigrant Wichmann ancestor (g-grandfather) was the illegitimate son of an illegitimate daughter. So the last legitimate male in the line was his g-grandfather who's wife was from Twielenfleth, Landkreis Stade.
