For those of you who are reseaching the Wiand/wiandt/wyant and any other variation know that the state of Ohio was in a lot of chance as far as county divisions went and that some were still changing as late as 1840. This makes the search so much more difficult since the records stayed with the new county. If they were in Tuscarawas County when it was divided seveal times the records could actually be in another county at this point in time. I have maps that show the changes that were made. To much to put on line but will gladly look up if asked. Have a great Memorial Day 2002.
