I have a Gottlieb Popp, b. 1819 in Germany and who d.1900 in Wood County, and is buried at the gates of Heaven (Hillside) Cemetery in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He married Caroline Labbs and they had at least 10 children, listed below.

This family lived in the Manville area near Stratford; some in Auburndale, some in Marshfield, and I htink all of these towns were in Wood County then and now I think Manville is in Marathon County.
I would love to hear from you and compare our notes. The naming pattern you had is so similar to what I have.
