Smith, Alexander of Civil War fame, a friend of another clan of Smiths of Omro, Wisconsin.
Alexander Smith had a sister Jane/Jennie that married a Bailey and they went to North Dakota. Jennie and Alexander had a bro. J. B. Smith and he was a postmaster of Bailey, N.D. from info. I have found amongst our non-relatives also Smiths. Hope this gives you some clues to whereabouts of Smiths probably your lost relatives.
