On Friday p. m., June 19th, at their charming cottage residence in this village, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Williams celebrated their “Golden Wedding.” As evidence of the esteem in which they are held about sixty guests assembled to honor the occasion. A pleasant season of friendly intercourse was enjoyed after which choice refreshments were served. An interesting feature of the event was the family reunion, six sons and five daughters being present, hailing from far and near. The occasion was memorialized with some beautiful and costly gifts, among which were a gold-headed cane, gold ring and thimble, silver tea set, silver cake stand, silver pickle castor, silver fruit spoons and knives, fruit set, napkin rings, etc., etc. The many friends of the genial couple, who have walked the journey of life together for so many years, unite in hearty congratulations, and fervently wish their continued health and prosperity.
