1. She is not listed in the on-line transcription of the Omro Junction Cemetery, so I would suggest contacting the city to learn if she is buried in the Omro Cemetery.

2. Her death is not listed in the Wisconsin Historical Society genealogy vital records index. You might try contacting the Winnebago County courthouse in Oshkosh; they sometimes have records that were not reported to the state.

While looking for her death record, I did find a marriage record for James Abbott & Jane Newton, dated 26 Dec 1877.

3. Her death is not listed in the on-line Oshkosh Public Library Vital Records Index, so it was not reported in the Oshkosh newspaper.

If you have a public library nearby that has a microfilm reader, your library can request microfilm of the 1875 & 1876 Omro Weekly Journal. It will be sent to your library from the Wisconsin Historical Society. Typically the loan period is about 3 weeks. You'd have to read every issue, but it is a weekly newspaper and the local news is usually only on two pages of each issue.
