Mrs. Small, mother of M. E. Small, was down town on Thursday afternoon and in the evening was as well as usual. In the morning she did not get up as early as usual, so Mrs. N. L. Steele, who is living in her house, went to her room to see what was the matter, and found her in an unconscious condition from a stroke of apoplexy. A doctor was summoned but said he could do nothing for her. She remained in this condition until Sunday morning at 1:30 when she died. The funeral was held from her late residence, on Monday afternoon, Rev. O. W. Babcock conducting the services. She was about seventy-five years old.
