First off, do you have the family in the Federal Censuses? They appear in 1870, 1900, 1920, and 1930, and should be in 1880 and 1910, too. Nicholas appears in the 1890 Veterans Schedule.

Have you found obituaries? Several are listed on the Oshkosh Public Library's obituary index at www.oshkoshpubliclibrary.org.


www.wisconsinhistory.org/vitalrecords has quite a bit of information, too.

And just try different Google searches--often this is a good source.
