Hi Janet,

Do you by any chance know what happened to Poygen Twp. in Winnebago Co. WI? The closest name I could find on my map in Winnebago Co. is Poy Sippi.

My grandfather, George Edmond Hendershott was born there June 14, 1872, along with his brother James Lewis b-Abt. 1875 d-Feb. 2, 1877 & sister Maude May Hendershott b-June 3, 1878.

Their parents were James Montgomery & Sarah Delilah (Barder)Hendershott & they were married on April 2, 1870 in WI & I'm trying to determine if that was in Winnebago Co. as well. Also trying to locate a birth date for James Lewis.

James added the second 't' to his name, so records could show it as HENDERSHOT. I know he changed it after his Civil War service. The death record I found online for the son who died at 2 yrs. showed it with one 't'. All were using the HENDERSHOTT spelling by the time they moved to Paradise, Russell Co. KS in May 1885.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bobbi Harrison
