William H. Ham / Hamm of Oshkosh
Posted by: GregH Date: September 29, 2001 at 15:25:49

William Ham and his wife Clarissa (Lowell) came to Oshkosh, from Vermont about 1849. They are listed as "Ham", in both the 1850 and 1860 census'. The name was spelled "Hamm" in the 1870 census, and that spelling has been used ever since. William and Clarissa brought their children Walter and Eugene with them. Son William Jr. was born in 1852. There were other children also. I am seeking other descendants or researchers of this family. The family is of English descent, and is not related to the many Hamm's of German descent in Wisconsin.
