Tammy,

I am going to go to the Library tonight (hopefully) and there is a librarian who very knowledgable about history in Winnebago County. I will see if she knows of any info. (I made mistake too, house is 2 stories, not 3 like I had thought). It is now called Davis Child Care. I will do what I can to find out if the records are accessable though. They may not give me any information but I can pass what I find out to you.
One possiblility is that farmers back then took on other children to help with farm work. Not a nice exchange for the kids but a home is better than an orphanage. This is just one possibiblity though.
