Herbert P Simonis 72 of Waukesha died Thursday at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received during an enemy attack in the South Pacific in 1944. He retired in 1990 after 43 years at Magne Tek Inc in Waukesha.
Survivors include his wife, Joan of Waukesha; four sons, Richard(Nancy) of Fond du Lac, Chet(Sherry)Coleman and Shawn (Pam)Coleman, both of Waukesha; three daughters, Diane(Gordon)Billings of Arizona, Donna Leiske of Oconomowoc, and Brenda (Fred) Scherf of Waukesha; his mother-in-law, Lydia Schmear of Waukesha; brothers and sisters; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Sunday at the Rudolph-Larsen Bros. Funeral Home 500 N. East Ave, Waukesha. Burial will be at 11am Monday at the veterans memorial cemetery at 21731 Spring St in Union Grove.
