Hello all. My name is Leeann. My great grandmother was Angeline GRANT. Angeline along with her 2 brothers William and Hulce were adopted by Emma when she married my great great grandpa Albert H. GRANT. Emma's father William ROSS was the son of Private Nathaniel ROSS born in Ireland in 1826 and died in Helena Arkanasas in August 1862. Nathaniel arrived in America in 1839 at the age of 16. He married Pauline BEEBE in WI. Their children were William,John,Hannah,Andrew,Mary and Agness(Mary and Agness could possibly be from Paulines 2nd marriage.)

Nathaniel enlisted in the 28th WI Company H in Muskego,Waukesha County,WI in 1861. Before leaving for war the 28th WI trained at Camp Washburn in Washburn County,WI. He died in Helena,Arkansas in 1862 of disease and most likely was at Helena when the battle of Helena took place in July of 1862. I am trying to locate the location of his burial. He was either buried at Helena or shipped home to WI but there are no records of him being buried in any Muskego Cemeteries.
