ELMER DENT Waukesha WI
After Elmer Dent's father (James S. Dent) died 23 May 1906 he returned to Waukesha.He worked in the brewery, helped cut timber in the town of New Berlin and incidently helped build one of the last log houses in this area-near Prospect Hill.
In 1910, he was elected sheriff after he campaigned throughout the county in horse and wagon.He was paid $2000 a year, hired his own men and provided three horses.
Elmer was born 5 January 1876 on a farm in the town of Menomonee.He married Lillian Miller 18 June 1918 when Dent was a soldier in the Machine Gun Company of the old 32nd (Red Arrow) Division.
