Martha Freeman Irving - Delavan, 1886
Seeking information regarding Martha J. Freeman Irving, known to be living in Walworth County, in Delavan, in 1886.Her father was Noble Freeman (b. ???, d. 12 Mar 1888 in Beloit, KS).
Estate papers for Noble Freeman’s sister, Theodocia Freeman Shaw (b. 1800 at Madrid, St. Lawrence County, NY, d. 19 Apr 1886 at Madrid, St. Lawrence County, NY) names him as her brother and one of her heirs.By the time the estate had settled, Noble was dead. His five children divided his inherited share of this estate. Martha Freeman Irving was one of these five children. Her four brothers were Spencer J. Freeman, Loyal E. Freeman, Duane A. Freeman and Gilbert J. Freeman. These men all lived in Beloit, KS in 1886.
Her father, Noble Freeman, is shown in following censuses: US 1840 Lockport (Niagara County) NY; 1850 and 1860 Mukwonago (Waukesha County) WI; Wisconsin Census of 1855 also shows him in Mukwonago.Noble Freeman also is recorded in Wisconsin Land Records as having purchased land as a patentee (i.e., first buyer after US Government survey of 1820) in Waukesha County on Jan 1, 1851.Dates and other family information suggest Martha Freeman Irving was in all likelihood born in either Niagara County, NY or in Waukesha County, WI after 1840.
Any information about Martha J. Freeman Irving will be gratefully received.I have abundant information to share on this Freeman family, going back to 1635.
