I am searching for cemetery information and death date for two of my Furman ancestors who settled in the Desoto, Vernon County area. They are present on the 1860 census for Freeman Twp., Crawford Co., Post Office, Desoto. George W. Furman was born about 1826 in Tioga Co., PA. He served in the Civil War, Company I, 27 Wisconsin Infantry. I believe he died around 1900 and is buried in the Village of Desoto town cemetery. My other ancestor is his sister, Liberty FURMAN Babcock Wiburn(Wyburn). She was born about 1814 in Tioga Co., PA. Her first husband, Simeon Babcock III, died in 1855 in Iowa and she remarried to William Wiburn(Wyburn). He purchased a 40 acre homestead in Crawford Co. in 1858. I am hoping to find Liberty in the same cemetery as her brother. I have searched the on-line cemtery readings for Crawford Co. by the LWR and have not been able to locate my two people. I did however, find three of their children buried in Lawrence Ridge Cemetery, Crawford Co. A big "thank you" to the local researcher who can locate George and Liberty.
