Solomon Stirdivant went to Sheboygan Co.

My great great grand father Solomon Stirdivant and his wife Maria (Higley) went from Crawford Co., PA to Sheboygan Co., Wisc. about 1860.
They were born in Connecticut . When Solomon was living in Crawford Co., PA his name was spelled Sturdivant and the family who stayed in Pa spelled it with the u. Their son Edward Otis Sturdivant was my great grandfather.
Solomon died some time after the 1880 census. He said in the census that his father was born in France. Would appreciate any help you could give me. I think they lived around Sheboygan Falls.
Thank you.
Gloria Eckert
