Hello Thomas,
I found some information you might be interested in. I found a James Hanford in the 1850 Sheb. Co. census index living in Sheb. in the 14th district. There is also J. Handford listed in the 1855 census index for Sheboygan County, this time living in Sheb. Falls. Try the Sheb. County Genweb page for more information:

Also, I am going to the courthouse in Sheb. this Friday (3/14) if you would like me to try to find some death dates for the family members that you were seeking. Let me know if you would like me to do that for you.
