Another posting from the board: (don't know if you've seen, or not)
After an exhausting but file filling trip to Wisconsin last week, I have learned a lot more about Ruth Anderson Jensen.
Ruth Anderson was born on MAR 12, 1908 at Lessor Township, Shawano, Wisconsin, also known as Landstadt. She married Hans (Harris) E. Jensen, son of (--?--) Jensen. She died on APR 23, 2004 at Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin, at age 96 in a local nursing home. She was buried on APR 30, 2004 at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin. She lived at Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin. She worked at Nau's, Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin, for part of her married life. She was a long time member and volunteer of the Trinity Lutheran Christian Women of Green Bay, Wisconsin at Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin.
She was went to live with her mother's mother, Rangdi Ostby Berswendsen, at the age of 2 1/2 after her mother died in 1910 at Lessor, Shawano, Wisconsin. Mother, Martha, died of tuberculosis in 1910 at Lessor, Shawano, Wisconsin. Charlotte Nesbitt Anderson's obit (from notes not original) lists 1 step daughter, Mrs. Harris Jensen, Green Bay, Wisconsin as surviving children in 1972. She was at Marla Vista, Western Village and the Heartland Hospice care facilities before her death in 2004 at Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin.
Ruth Anderson and Hans E. Jensen had only one son, Valdemar H, born at Green Bay, Brown, Wisconsin.
Her mother's parents were Johan (John/Jack) Christian Anderson (of Hans and Sarah (Sigrid Olson/Ystebakken (sp) of Norway) and Martha Petrina Ostby Berswendsen Simonson Anderson (of Berswen Berswendsen and Randgi Ostby Berswendsen of Norway), all buried at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lessor, Wisconsin.
Ruth was the only child of Johan and Martha, as Martha died of tuberculosis, same as Johan's first wife, Helena Frantzine Blichfeldt Anderson, only four years after Helena's death in the same house of the same disease. Ruth was an only child of theirs, but had three children from Martha's first marriage to Peter Simonson who left her a widow, and Johan had 7 children with Helena. After Martha's death, Johan went on to marry Charlotte (Dottie) King Nesbitt Anderson, who brought with her 3 or 4 children from her previous marriage, and then had 4 more children with Johan. Thus Ruth had at least 14 half brothers and sisters and 4 step brothers and sisters.
Names of brothers and sisters are: Floyd Anderson, Chester Anderson, Raymond Anderson, Ruth S. Anderson, John Henry Anderson, Rudolph Anderson, Lillian Anderson, Eileen Anderson, Richard Anderson, Roy Anderson, Marvin Anderson, Charlotte Nesbitt, Myrtle Nesbitt, and Everett Nesbitt.
Unfortunately, after the death of each mother, the children were scattered among relatives so they didn't all grow up together, though they did grow up in the same community, Lessor Town in Shawano County, Wisconsin, for the most part.
