Have extensive info. on Adolph LaRonge and decendants for any that are interested. Am searching for info. on Sinnette, Cyr, and a place called Inconnus? Adolph LaRonge was my gg-grandfather born abt 1825 in Lac LaRonge, Saskatchewan,Can. His first wife, Sophie Goki was from Inconnus? They started out in Flambeau, Chippewa Co,WI. and then settled on the Lac Courtre Oreilles Resv. in Sawyer Co. Sophie was 3/4 Chippewa and I suspect Adolph had some Ojibeway/Chippewa as well. They had 3 children; Adolphh II, Louise, and Joseph. Joseph was my g-grandfather who was b. 1867 in Flambeau, WI and died aft. 1930 on the Lac Courte Oreilles resv., Sawyer Co, He m. Emily Sinnette(daughter of Frank Sinnette and Leae Cyr)abt. 1890. They had 3 children; Clarence, Louise, and Hillary Olive LaRonge. Emily died right aft. my grandmother Hillary, was b. in 1903 on the Reserv in Sawyer Co. Joseph's 2nd wife was Julia Inconnus(?)born in WI. My problem is finding out if 'Inconnus' is a name or place? Most of my ancestors on my father's side(LaRonge/Lozon) were French and Chippewa. The French had an exasperating custom of taking on 'dit' names or 'alias', if you will. If there wasn't a Bertha Inconnus b. in Waukegan,IL. further down the line, I would've thought 'Inconnus' was such a name('dit') Hope someone out there can enlighten me.
