John H Rizer, was good dairy farmer in Richland County, Akan township. He was married March 23,1852, to Mary E. Berry, born in Warren Co., Ohio, Nov. 2, 1837.
Six months after the father's death the mother died and the six children became scattered.
Now, Martin and Amelia Risser Smith came from the East and settled near Boaz, WI. in the former Hube Berry Farm. They had three sons, Orange and Grant,& who later moved to Lyons, Nebraska, Freeman who settled in NY.,and three daughters, Matilda, Hattie and Alwilda. Alwilda married Patrick Daly, and two of his sisters married brothers of Mary Berry,(Thomas & Andrew Berry).
I'm wondering if the names Rizer & Risser, could be the same family? Does anyone know the where abouts of any of the Rizer or Smith families? Mr.and Mrs.Rizer had three children:
Marquis D, Lorena and Clara, also an adopted son, Willie.
I'm Karl Miller Great-Great Grandson of Amelia Risser Smith.
