Keland or Kjeland Family

Seeking information about Johann and Mary (?) Kjeland who immigrated to USA from Norway about 1891...Lofoden or Lofoten? They were in Badger Twp, Webster County, Iowa when the 1895 Iowa census was done. Mary supposedly died there in 1899 and Johann then moved to South Dakota with his family. Difficult to follow this family due to many spelling variations.

The Kjelands may have had nine children. Several are known. One daughter, Ovedia married Melvin J. Staven who later lived in Renwick, Humboldt County, Iowa. A son, Dr. Harold B. Keland, born 2 May 1884 Norway and died 18 January 1872 in Racine, WI; whereas another daughter, Dr. Albertine Louisa (Keland) Rea also died in 1961 at Racine. Another son, Dr. George Antonius Keland died in Madison, WI in/about 1925.
