My mother and I were doing some research in Racine and Kenosha in June, and wondered about the Dekovan Center. Very imposing facility, just knew it had an interesting history. On the subjects of "asylums", does anyone know of one for patients with mental disabilities? My GGF was an inmate at one in or around Racine at the time of his death in 1917, unfortunately we didn't have time to pursue this.
