EAGER FOR STORY HOUR That Feature of Public Library Work Will be Enlarged During Coming Season
The story hour department of the Oshkosh public library had a bigger year in 1919-20 than ever before. Twenty-eight story hours were held and 1,722 children attended, which was 360 more than in any other year.
The above figures do not include the branch libraries. Last year the story hour got a late start due to the influenza epidemic and was not begun until after the first of January but this season it was carried on through the whole year. The last story hour for the spring was held Saturday. Miss Gladys Beveridge has been in charge most of the time but during her absence, Miss Letha Dauber, Miss Marion Ewing and Miss Isabel Farrand also told stories. The department has proved such a success that the library staff are greatly pleased and are planning bigger things than ever for the next season.

TO RESUME STORY HOUR That Feature at the Public Library is Eagerly Awaited by the Youngsters of City.
The Oshkosh public Library has some good news for the youngsters. The story hour, which last year made so favorable an impression on the children of the city will be resumed on Saturday morning Oct. 2. Miss Gladys Beveridge, who last year conducted the story telling, will again be in charge and an ever-greater success is anticipated. Stories will be told to two groups of children, one at 10 o'clock and one at 10:30.
The children have been making anxious inquires at the library for some time past and have evidently been looking forward with eagerness to the resumption of the story hour. Last year a total of 1,722 children attended the twenty-nine story hours the attendance on the various days being from twenty to 102.
