HENRY KREUTZBERG, who is successfully operating a general and dairy farm in Ellington township, has been a lifelong resident of this district, and was born on his father's farm, a son of Conrad and Anna (Baker) Kreutzberg. Conrad Kreutzberg was born in Germany and came to the United States when he was eighteen or nineteen years of age, locating in Greenville township and working for the farmers there by the month for two years. He then came to Ellington township and purchased land, but after three or four years he sold that property and purchased the one now owned by Henry Kreutzberg. At that time there had been made but few improvements on this place, but Conrad Kreutzberg remodeled the house and erected large new barns, also bringing his land to a high state of cultivation. In 1861 he married Barbara Fischer, and. she died in 1876, having been the mother of three children. In 1878 Mr. Kreutzberg married Anna Baker, daughter of Peter Baker, and they had two children, and now reside in Appleton, retired. Henry Kreutzberg's brother, Theodore, died at the age of fourteen years. Henry Kreutzberg received his education in the district schools of Greenville township and the Catholic schools, and was reared to the life of an agriculturist, always remaining on his father's farm, which he purchased in 1905, after having rented it for two years. He carries on farming along general lines, and has made a decided success of his ventures. In 1900 Mr. Kreutzberg was married to Katherine Bauer, who was born in 1878, daughter of Andrew and Katherine Bauer, natives of Grand Chute township, Outagamie county, and to this union there have been born six children: Mary, Asalla, Conrad, Monica, Theodore and Clarence. The family is connected with the Catholic Church at Greenville. In politics Mr. Kreutzberg is identified with the Democratic party, but claims the right to vote independently and to use his own judgment in casting his vote.

JOHN BECKER, who is busy operating a fine farm of eighty acres located in Ellington township, is a native of Germany, and was born March 17, 1853, being three months old and one of the four children of Tattars and Josephine Becker when he came to the United States. The parents of Mr. Becker settled first in Milwaukee for one year, where he followed his trade of shoemaker, and then came to Ellington township and bought the farm now occupied by his son, John. Here Mr. Becker continued to reside until his death in 1864, his wife surviving him until 1903. They had four children in Germany and one in America. Tattars Becker died when his son John was but eleven years old, and when he was seventeen he was left in charge of everything on the home place. He was always frugal and industrious, and by 1885 by hard work had accumulated enough to buy the farm of eighty acres which he has developed into one of the finest properties of this section. General farming and dairy work have taken up his time, although he has also done some cattle breeding. His buildings are in an excellent state of repair, his land is well fenced, and a general air of prosperity prevails that gives evidence of able management. In 1879 Mr. Becker was married to Anna Kreutzberg, who was born in May, 1859, in Ellington township, daughter of Conrad and Barbara Kreutzberg, the former of, whom came from Germany to the United States in 1862, locating in Ellington township, where he became a prominent farmer. He is now living retired in the city of Appleton. Nine children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Becker, namely: Henry, John J., Anna, Mary, Conrad, Magdalena, Edward, Jacob and Celia. Mr. and Mrs. Becker belong to the Catholic Church of Greenville, and have been active in church and charitable movements. Mr. Becker takes an interest in local political results, but has never found time from his farming duties to engage actively in affairs of a public nature.

JOHN C. BAUER, who is operating the old Bauer homestead farm of seventy acres, located in Grand Chute township, has resided on this property all of his life, his birth having occurred here December 31, 1883. He is a son of Andrew and Katharine (Dreisang) Bauer, natives of Bohemia, the former born March 4, 1846, and the latter March 18 of the same year. Andrew Bauer came to the United States with his parents, who resided for two years in Milwaukee and then moved to Grand Chute township, where Andrew followed farming until the fall of 1903, and then retired from active pursuits and moved to Appleton, where he is now living at 1259 West College avenue. He and his wife had a family of nine children, John C. being the seventh in order of birth. He attended the district schools of Grand Chute township, also spending five years in the German school at Greenville, and after completing his education took up his duties on the old homestead which he has never left. When his father retired, he took over the management of the place, and he now has a well improved and finely equipped property, where he carries on general and dairy farming, also raising some stock for his own use. He is a member of the Roman Catholic church at Greenville, and in political matters is a democrat, although not actively engaged in public matters. Mr. Bauer was married November 28, 1905, to Miss Mary Becker, who was born in Ellington township, April 16, 1886, daughter of John and Anna (Kreutzberg) Becker, the former born in Germany, March 17, 1856, and the latter in Ellington township, in June, 1851.
