Herman Nelson, b1870 Denmark to Waupaca WI

Searching for information about my husband's grandfather's roots -- Herman Nelson, born 1870 somewhere in Denmark, immigrated in 1890 through New York, settling in Waupaca WI by 1900 (in 1900 Fed Census). On 7 May 1902 in Waupaca he married Anna C. Breit (d of William Albert Traugott Breit and Ingeborg Emma Thomsen), b1879 in Waupaca - d1940.
According to their marriage registry, Herman's parents in Denmark are noted as J. C. Nelson and Marie Jorgensen.

I particularly want to know more about J. C. and Marie Jorgensen Nelson (estimated b 1840-1850), and where Herman came from in Denmark. Also, I do not know Herman's death information.

According to the 1930 Fed Census, wife Anna indicates she is divorced. Anna and Herman show as married in Waupaca in the 1920 census. Their children were (1) Frank Herman, b 1903 in Waupaca WI; (2) Edith Lulu, b 1906 in Waupaca WI; (3) Stanley G, b 1910 in Philip, Stanley SD; (4) Albert W, b 1911 in Philip, Stanley SD; and (5) Richard Charles, b 1915 in Waupaca WI.

Any help in tracking more information about Herman in Waupaca, and how to approach research of Danish records would be much appreciated!
