I have found that the father of Riley Stephen Watkins was a George Watkins. I do not have any dates for him. He was born in England. Riley's mother was Gunnel, or Gunheld (Julia), maiden name Halvorson or Narum. She was born in 1828 in Norway and died on December 28, 1914 in Argyle, WI. Her parents were Halvor and Christa Narum. Narum is also an area in Norway, so they may have used that name. Gunnel came to the U.S. in 1853 per the census report, so she would have been about 25 years old when she came over. She had 11 children, but only four survived per the census report.

I thought with this additional information you might be able to find something in the 1860 census report.
