Hi Mark,
There is some limited help on LDS
http://www.familysearch.org/
and there is a personal family tree on ancestry that you have to contact through ancestry. Only thing I gathered from that... Roland had a brother Otto, who also came to Wisconsin, found him in Milwaukee.

The spelling on the last name changes wildly. Otto had dropped the "Von". Roland, went by Carl and kept the Von.
found them in 1870 West Bend, indexed as Carl Von Broigh
age 40, life insurance agent, b. Prussia
Mary, 38, Prussia
Laura, 14, b. Prussia
Carl, 11 "
Edward, 7 "

1880 in West Bend
Maria Von Broich, 45?, wid. b. Prussia
Eddie, 17, prussia
Clara, 9 , b. Wi

after that... it gets pretty fuzzy
possible death date for Maria, spelled Von Breuch, 11 Jan 1892, Washington Co.

Lost Edward... possible for him in South Dakota. Edward Broich, age is right, US in 1866/67 sounds about right, wife is from Minnesota, all children b. in SD, no indication of being in Wisconsin. BUT, he can't be found before 1900 anywhere but Wisconsin...

Can't even begin to find Laura. Wherever you found the info on Carl's death in 1877 (are you sure it's the son and not the Dad?) and Clara's birth info... Look for a Laura, b. about 1856. she would possibly have married sometime 1875-1880.

Big mystery for you to work out.. best of luck

Judy
