Almeda Grant and John Wesley Corey married 17 Jun 1890 in Marinette Co., Wi. There marriage is listed in the Wi pre 1907 marriage record index. You can get a copy of the marriage record from Marinette Co. Vital records or the State historical society in Madison. (If you get it from state vital records it would take 6 months, where as the other ways are just a week or two.) The marriage record should have his parents as well as where he was born.
He died bet 1910-1920, do you have his death cert? If not, see if there is anyone at http://www.raogk.com that can do a death cert search for him in Dickinson Co., MI. With a complete death date you can look for an obit, another good source for info.
There is a John Corey working on a farm in Rushford, Winnebago Co., Wi. in the 1880 census, whose parents were born in PA.(This is him if you look back to 1870). Also in the 1880 in Winnebago Co., is Anna COREY, 23, servent in Omro (Mary A. perhaps); and Ellen COREY, 15, born in WI., parents born in PA in Vineland (This is def his sister Ellen). I wonder is Hiram and or Pheobe died bet 1870-1880
It appears to be him as he is listed as John W. COREY in 1870 census for Rushford, Winnebago Co., Wi.
