Hello, I am trying to trace relations of my mother Helen Walker (nee Ellen McGourty)from Ireland. I think Hugh McGourty left Sligo, Ireland in the 1800's and settled in Buffalo. Other known relation is his sister Mary who I think came over on the ship Archemedes. A Patrick McGourty born approx 1878 arrived Port of Boston on or about 11 June 1899 and went to New York. My mother Helen (also known as Ellen or Ella) married my father Thomas Walker in Scotland in 1947. My Mum had a sister Mary (Maginn who later married a Charles Kidd). I also think there was a Michael McGourty. Hope someone can help as I have hit many "brick walls". Many thanks. Moira Hathaway (nee Walker)
